Puglia (or Apulia) is the region also called the heel on the Italian boot and is
located on the south eastern side of the country, it has coastlines on both the
Adriatic and Ionian seas and therefore it offers some of the most beautiful and
untouched beaches in the mediterranean. As well as offering breath-taking
landscapes, Puglia has a very ancient history and the numerous Castles,
Monuments, Baroque churches and Archeological sites represent a walk through
the story of this land conquered by the Romans, Greek, Norman, Svebian and
Angioin. Amongst rural architectures predominate the “Trulli” which looks like
a house from fairy tales, historical news tell us that the trullo of Apulia,
made of dry stone, was born in 15th century as a way not to pay real estate
taxes, since it was considered a precarious construction.
